If possible, ask for a room that is not connected to a suite: the suite next to us was having a birthday party the night we stayed there, which ended up being a slight problem because of the noise levels.

Check MotorCity's social media pages to see if they're offering a discount on rooms - I saw on its Twitter page last week that it was offering a $129 'Social Media Room Rate' for select rooms this week.
